Dan Van der Vieren
Dan attended Regis University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. After starting a PhD program at the University of Denver and then working two years as a community college math instructor (not simultaneously), Dan decided to adjust his path to teach students at the secondary level. He went on to earn his teaching license through the Urban Community Teacher Education Program at the University of Colorado at Denver. Dan received his initial student teaching experience in Aurora Public Schools, and has since then taught in both urban and rural settings. Within the last three years, Dan has contributed twice to TED-Ed (he is the author of the popular “Einstein’s Riddle”), as well as written articles for an educational magazine in the United Kingdom. He joined TEENS, Inc. in 2017 and teaches math, science, and other subjects. Some of Dan’s hobbies include playing guitar, composing music, writing poetry, solving the Rubik’s Cube and other logic puzzles, and spending quality time with his wife and two sons in Windsor, Colorado.
