Teens Inc. Sponsors the Peak to Peak Youth Recreation Soccer League!
Peak to Peak Soccer has been providing non-competitive soccer to kids ages 5-13 since 2000! This late summer/fall program is geared toward teaching any young soccer fan basic skills with an emphasis on sportsmanship and teamwork while having fun. Practices take place on the Nederland Elementary School fields immediately after school for 1-2 practices a week lasting 1 to 1 ½ hours depending on the age. Games are played every Saturday against the other league teams from Idaho Springs and Gilpin County.
Peak to Peak Soccer was originally started by local moms with the intention of getting kids involved in soccer regardless of ability level and with the goal of teaching skills beyond how to win. Good sportsmanship, how to be a team player and positive role modeling by coaches and parents are a focus of the program alongside learning ball handling, soccer rules, and team dynamics.
Encouraging parental involvement is a key component of this volunteer run program. From coaching to hanging nets, providing concessions and prepping the fields for game days, parents are asked to play an active role in making the season a success.
