Summer 2024 Outdoor Leadership Trips - Registration Now Open
Calling all middle schoolers!
(Rising 6th through 9th graders)
We are super excited to announce that registration is open for our 2024 Outdoor Leadership trips:
June 10th-June 14th: Car Camping Adventure
[Registration Full - Accepting Applications for Waitlist)]
This will be a classic five-day car camping adventure to Buena Vista, Colorado. Activities include hiking and rafting with the possibility to mountain bike and/or climb. (Reservations are still being confirmed - specific details will be released in early April). There will be an emphasis on building community and finding joy in each other’s company right in our backyard.
July 8th-12th: Beginner Backpacking in New Mexico!
[Registration Full - Accepting Applications for Waitlist)]
This five-day trip will be an incredible adventure in the secluded Sangre De Cristo Mountains of New Mexico! This will be a mellow backpacking trip with lots of opportunity to learn new skills and explore this beautiful area. No experience required! If you are interested in attending the final Outdoor Leadership program in late July (Backpacking Expedition in Wyoming), this is a great training opportunity. The exact location of this trip will be confirmed in early April when permits are released. TEENS, Inc. is operating under a special use permit issued by the Carson National Forest.
July 21st-27th: Backpacking Expedition in Wyoming
This seven-day backpacking trip will be the culmination of the summer's Outdoor Leadership programs. This is for youth who want a little bit of a challenge in a very supportive and learning focused environment. Each trip increases in challenge throughout the summer to build up to this week-long backpacking adventure. If you have never attended a TEENS, Inc. Outdoor Leadership program, we encourage you to try the Car Camping Adventure in June or the Beginner Backpacking Trip to New Mexico in early July to prepare for this expedition. We will laugh, learn and grow together in this truly picturesque environment. The exact location of this trip will be confirmed in early April when permits are released.
Please reach out to Rebecca, Outdoor Leadership Faculty at rebecca@teensinc.org or call 303-258-3821 and ask for Rebecca for more information. When permits and reservations are confirmed, all descriptions on the website will be updated with specific location information. Check back in early April for details. Acceptance letters will be sent out beginning in late April.
NOTE: Once you are accepted on to an Outdoor Leadership trip we will request a $200 deposit to hold your spot. We will ask for the trip balance about 2 weeks prior to the trip. Our trips are popular and we want to ensure that all available spots are filled, which is difficult if people drop out last minute. Your deposit is non-refundable unless you cancel with 2 months notice before the start date of the trip. If you are receiving a full scholarship, you will not need to pay a deposit, but we request that you are certain you want to do the trip before accepting the scholarship.
